Objective. The objective and singular element of the Board of
Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators is the regulation of nursing home administrators.
Through its program the Board examines persons seeking a license to engage in nursing home
administration; establishes standards for the practice of nursing home administration; and
require adherence to those standards. Thus, its activities consist of Regulation,
Examination, and Administration.
Description. Ascertain that all nursing homes in the state are administered by a licensed administrator, enforces standards that are pre-requisite to licensure, administers appropriate examinations, issues licenses to qualified persons, receive, investigate and appropriate action with regards to any charge or complaint lodged against a licensed administrator, conduct disciplinary proceedings, conduct a continuing study and investigation of nursing homes and administrators with a view to the improvement of the standards imposed for the licensing of such administrators, approves various educational programs for continuing education credits, renews licenses of licensed administrators.
